Art & Technology is an interdisciplinary studio arts program in computer mediated art, which includes interactive and electronic objects and environments, multimedia, digital video, animation, media, art & digital imaging.

The program is designed to help students discover individual aesthetics and artistic vision through conceptualization, theory and an awareness that critically engages the use of advanced critical thinking and technology. Students are encouraged to use their imagination and all creative tools to develop content and create create new projects.

We will work to incorporate your other courses into the projects and development of art/tech knowledge base.

Graphic design is a creative process – most often involving a client and a designer and is used in order to convey a specific message to a targeted audience. The field of graphic design and web design is also often referred to as Visual Communication or Communication Design.

Various methods are used to create and combine words, symbols, and images to create a visual representation of ideas and messages. A graphic designer may use typography, visual arts and page layout techniques to produce the final result.

Common uses of graphic and web design include identity (logos and branding), web sites, publications (magazines, newspapers, and books), advertisements and product packaging, and animations.

For example, a website or even a product package might include a logo or other artwork, organized text and pure design elements such as shapes and color which unify the piece.
